Danny’s Travels in Puerto Rico
By Adrienne Blackman

We walked along the northeast shore of the island of Puerto Rico. The water was clean and the skies were beautiful and blue
with clouds. Holding Danny, everything had a smile.

Walking in the sand, the seashells are calling to us and saying "stop here and leave him with us." At some point the water beckons and Danny and I walk into the waves. With camera in hand, Mike catches my thumbs up as I empty the vial and the tears I choke back with happiness in my heart.

Walking back I find the sand dollar that I knew I would stumble upon. Before we started our walk I noticed a broken sand dollar in the sand and then again in the waves I saw one being tossed around but I just couldn’t quite grasp it.
So I went on our walk with the intent that Danny would find me one and what do you know…. walking back there in the sand was the sand dollar I knew Danny would lead me to!

You see, children think sand dollars are the money of mermaids. So now Danny has some money with him to take care of all those babes flocking around him.

Danny, like the waves washing ashore you will be forever singing in our hearts. We love you,

Adrienne, Lexi and Mike
