WINDOW DRESSING:
The Eyes Say it All
People who communicate with
unwavering honesty look deeply into each other's eyes, and the eyes
speak volumes. Shadows, liners, mascara and highlighters make a powerful
statement, whether the image is exotic, seductive, authoritative or
innocent. Leaders in the ancient world used eye make up to create a
dark, menacing look (a lot like some of today's rock stars do), and
women still use it to evoke an image of mysticism and sexual power.
. As a highlighter,
a light-color (cream or white) along the brow bone helps the eyes to
stand out.
. Use powders
instead of pencils on eyebrows. Pencils look too precise and unnatural.
Use an eye shadow that matches eyebrow color to fill in any gaps and
add definition to brows.
. Always blend
eye shadow colors well. Multiple colors used for shading and definition
should never be visibly obvious.
. A little foundation
followed by powder on the eyelid can help prevent shadow from creasing.
. Try using a dark-hued
shadow in place of eyeliner for a softer line.
THE
SEXY FINAL TOUCH
Lipsticks, glosses and
lip liners! Our lips transmit primitive sexual messages without a word
being spoken. That's why we color them and emphasize their shape and
softness. But if the lipstick speaks louder than the lips, the message
is lost. Ruby red lips have been immortalized in poetry and song for
centuries, but for most women, ruby red can lead to fashion disaster.
. Thinner lips
benefit from neutral lipstick and liner colors.
. Lips draw attention
to the skin, so if skin is red or blotchy, avoid bright or red shades.
. Lip liner should
appear invisible. It's the effect you want, not the actual line.
. To avoid harsh
lines and that "painted on" look, use the side of the pencil point.
. Vitamin E oil
over lipstick will help keep color true.
